Help
I would appreciate any information. I became a vegetarian cold turkey 14 months ago. I will admit that while I do try to include as much protein in my diet as possible, I simply do not have the time to prepare the kind of meals that I probably should to compensate for the lack of meat. Well as of a month ago I started noticing my hair shedding and in some cases coming out in clumps. Is there a good chance this is related to my diet and if so what is a good and easy to prepare source of protein. Thanks

Had a similar problem. Good
Had a similar problem. Good sources of protein: Tofu, beans and rice. Believe it or not, Taco bell (sub meat with beans) really gives protein levels a boost. If you cannot cook much, health food stores have prepared, very tasty tofu dishes you can buy buy the pound. Watch the calcium intake also. I have to eat calcium carbonate supplements to keep up teeth and bones. I went vegetarian 5 years ago. For those new, do it slow and give your body time to adjust. Good luck!
All that protien stuff is
All that protien stuff is really a load of crap that are FDA sends us. A protien deficiency disease is like PARVO, when's the las time you heard of anyone dying or going into the hospital from PARVO? Everything has protien, even SNICKERS bars have protien. The real problem with a vegetarian diet, or for that matter, a vegan diet would be such as iron or calcium...although this easily obtained by dark leafy veggies and legumes. As far as your hair...our body works in cycles...we shed both skin and hair in cycles, it's really one of our most animilastic insticncts...if taht answer sounded to far out for you...double up on your supplements to be on the safe side, and educate yourself on a vegetarian diet. I assure you, it is the best diet for you..by the way, I am 24- was raised vegan, rebelled in highschool, and as of 3 years ago, have maintained a vegetarian diet.
