Fruits are excellent in my diet as a vegeterian. Lately I learned that strawberries are the highest in vitamin C and it takes your body so much energy to burn , it burns calories while you eat them. Anyone else have more foods that burn calories while you eat?

Hi, I have struggled with Thanksgiving every year. I get a lot of pressure from our family about being a vegetarian, then I am expected to cook a turkey!! I am wondering if anyone has ever tryed the tofurky meal. It looks great but I am wondering how good it tastes before I spend the money on it. Please let me know your opinion on it. Thanks!

Am looking for vegetarian/animal rights/welfare advocates (no leather wearers please) to have as e-pals, having trouble finding like minded people in chat rooms and need someone who understands where I'm coming from...am 28,F,Australia. Send emails to kafico@email.com

Only genuine (what I deem to be truthful) emails will be answered, any ridiculous replies will be ignored, and any abusers would be well-served to spend their time doing something useful! Please no Bible thumpers, I am not Christian, Muslim,, Jewish or any other religion and will not be converted! No foul language thank you, it's an indication you won't have anything intelligent to say in the long run.

Prefer people who love and enjoy spending time with their companion animals.

  • A Side of Hypocrisy With Your Vegetables

Why do some vegetarians insist on trying to recreate the flavors of animal products with pathetic substitutes like Tofurky and tempeh, just to name a couple. I thought the whole point of being a vegetarian was to reject the consumption of animal flesh and it's by-products. If you choose to be a vegetarian, be a true vegetarian and leave the fleshy desires to the carnivores! It seems hypocritical to me to that people who purposely go out of their way to avoid eating meat, would choose to eat a meat-like substance. Why not embrace the vegetables and the legumes? Does anyone else agree?

I am wondering if anyone has tryed the tofurky meal. I am considering it for Thanksgiving and want some honest opinions of how it tastes. I refuse to cook a turkey this year for my family, so I am looking for an alternative.
    Thanks for any advice

All alone in Ohio....at least philosophically. Maybe I don't see so clearly anymore. Is anyone out there?

  • Vegetarian Friendly Living Areas

Anybody ever had the dream of living someplace where vegetarianism / veganism was more common? Do you know if there are such places? Would love to discuss this with anyone searching for the same thing. Please reply back if you are looking for that or just plain old fellowship with someone of similar mind.

  • Vegetarians and Christianity

Please explain this to me, because I don't understand how someone who doesn't eat meat because they think it's morally wrong can call themselves Christians.
Jesus Christ ate fish, and other animals, and the Christian faiths believe him to be the only perfect being to ever come to this earth. So, how can a person like I described call themselves Christian?
